Members of the Milford Police Department were dispatched to a home near the area of Old Point Road and Meadows End Road, where there was a report of a domestic violence incident where the man fled the scene after attacking his victim.
Police said that the investigation determined that New Haven resident Joshua Hayes wrapped his arm around the woman’s neck, restricting her ability to breath during the course of a verbal argument turned physical. Hayes then allegedly fled the scene after the woman called 911 for assistance.
Hayes, 31, was arrested and charged with assault, strangulation and disorderly conduct. He was released and scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to answer the charges.
